In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
Governance that holds users of AI technologies accountable for its effects on humanity and is enforceable. Ensuring those who are developing these tools proceed ethically and thoroughly tested before they can be released to the public.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
- Protection and promotion of human rights
- Transparency, accountability, and human oversight
- Open-source software, open data and open AI models

Clear and easily understood penalties if developed or used in an unethical manner. Promotion of human rights and benefits OVER profit for an individual or conglomeration of companies.

Protection of meaningful employment opportunities for people, especially low and middle class individuals.
How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.
It seems very much like the "space race" or "nuclear arms race" of decades past. The country that develops the technology the fastest, regardless of negative consequences, will have the most power. This is not beneficial for humanity in general and drives a competitive environment instead of a cooperative environment where scientist can work together to create a product that will benefit all of humanity.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
Minimally, discuss ways to put guidelines on what can be developed and released to the public. Ideally, implement international regulations and penalties for those who disregard them.
What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?
Globally adopted governance similar to Accessibility (W3C) and Data Security (GPDR) are good examples of recognizing the benefit of the technology to be able to help all instead of those who may happen to know about it. Protecting the ignorant as well as the enlightened.
How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.
Talk to the people who understand and currently work with the technology, both those who are optimistic about what the technology can contribute to humanity as well as those who are pessimistic about what the technology might do to destroy humanity.
Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?
The people who understand and currently investigate the technology and its projection. Those who should NOT be included are the leaders (typically CEOs) of the corporations who are developing the technology. They have an unavoidable bias to make the technology seem more beneficial and would naturally be resistant to regulation.
What innovative engagement formats could most effectively foster meaningful and dynamic engagement during the AI Dialogue?
A few documentaries have been released about AI. Watching them ahead of time might give a basis of information for all those who are participating in the discussions.
Please share examples of policies, practices, platforms, or approaches that promote effective AI governance or offer concrete solutions to addressing its challenges.
It is difficult to balance the ability for the technology to be used in creative ways to benefit humanity and the ability for it to be used to corrupt societies. I don't envy those who have to define that line. I currently have no concrete solutions to help address this challenge.
