In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
We would need the perspectives of diverse stakeholders. Even within Government, local entities should have their voices heard in unison with federal bodies.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Interoperability of governance approaches
- Open-source software, open data and open AI models
- Safe, secure and trustworthy AI
- Protection and promotion of human rights
Please briefly explain your selection.
As a leader in municipal government AI usage, these areas encompass my areas of interest.
In your opinion, are there any cross-cutting or emerging issues not captured by the listed themes above? If so, please explain.
No.
How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.
There is a vast difference in AI competency and secure practices amongst municipal entities. We must present a unified front to overcome the challenges AI pose. If one of us fail, it could doom the entire public service and our reputation.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
We can learn from each other and grow via diverse, global representation.
What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?
I would like splinter focus groups to really drill down into unique issues faced, for example, by local government.
