My current position mostly involves the deployment and usage of technology as well as our ability to train the engineers of the future to maintain these models so that they do not suffer from model drift or decay. I believe it is important for the education system to ensure that all computer science professionals understand their code and have the ability to testify their decisions when they are challenged.

In your opinion, are there any cross-cutting or emerging issues not captured by the listed themes above? If so, please explain.

AI Literacy is not mentioned, and I believe we need to have this as a requirement for individuals in the future. A general awareness for students and citizens of the technology and its limitations is essential. There should also be a discussion on how to continue the integrity of our scientific infrastructure which underpins all of our decisions. Whitepapers to remain as original thought are essential, and properly cited references must be maintained to combat misinformation.

How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.

Responsible deployment of these systems reduces the likelihood of downside consequences, thereby allowing these countries to maximize the benefits and have confidence when scaling across the economy. This leads to a greater capacity to scale adoption since both investors and users will trust the products more than they would if there wasnt such actions taken.

What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?

It allows there to be open discussion about issues and better democratizes the process of governance by introducing perspectives horizontally rather than vertically.

What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?

AI Pact from the European Commission should be expanded upon, as well as companies like ForHumanity and RAI Institute.

How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.

More of these events would be good. Also, having greater interoperability between states and companies.

Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?

Those without digital literacy are needed, as they may be the most vulnerable of all.

What innovative engagement formats could most effectively foster meaningful and dynamic engagement during the AI Dialogue?

Breakout rooms

Please share examples of policies, practices, platforms, or approaches that promote effective AI governance or offer concrete solutions to addressing its challenges.

Cybersecurity Administration of China's approach to have a measures based assessment and require approval before deployment of models is extremely proactive and should be explored more. It is heavily administrative for most systems but for high-risk algorithms it may be preferred. Market facing regulations with third-party audits is also advisable, especially for the majority of models which do not contain significant risk to public safety and wellbeing.
