The AI Dialogue can play a crucial role by acting as a bridge between regions, sectors, and regulatory approaches, helping to align AI governance around shared principles rather than fragmented rules.

From the EBU's point of view, this includes in particular: - Public service media (PSM), which play a unique role in safeguarding trusted information, editorial independence, and democratic discourse - Journalists and content creators, who are directly affected by AI in terms of attribution, visibility, and the integrity of their work - Civil society and audiences, whose exposure to AI-generated content raises questions around trust, media literacy, and accountability

Key examples include: - EBU AI Summit, which brings together media, tech, and policymakers to turn AI governance principles into practical solutions and shared approaches - EBU Academy's AI School, which builds skills and awareness, ensuring responsible AI use is embedded in everyday editorial and operational practices - Collaborative networks and AI initiatives, enabling Members to share use cases, guidelines, and tools for responsible AI in news, production, and personalisation - Editorial policies at Member level, ensuring human oversight, transparency, and accountability in AI-generated content - Work on sovereign and trusted infrastructure, advocating for independent, secure, and sustainable AI ecosystems From a regulatory perspective, the EBU prioritises: - transparency and attribution of AI-generated content - protection of editorial integrity and trusted information - fair access to data and infrastructure - alignment with fundamental rights and public values Overall, the added value of these efforts is to move from principles to practice-combining policy, implementation, and capacity-building to ensure AI strengthens, rather than undermines, the information ecosystem.
