Consensus on how to translate AI (Governance) Policy to technical policy on the operational level in an inclusive and interoperable way

- Safe, secure and trustworthy AI

- Transparency, accountability, and human oversight

1. Awareness of discrepancies of AI regulations and the need for overarching approaches and standards that span localised interpretations. Consolidation needed. 2. As Cognitive Computing as an umbrella concept of AI will touch every aspect of society, individually and collectively, urgent action in the form of analysis of its impact and ways to measure its impact on the named categories and beyond is needed.

Yes. The emergence of what can be called consumer facing AI - also in the enterprise realm, where employees consuming AI in all kinds of ways while accelerating but also shaping what is created - mandates to acknowledge that AI / ML / Conversational AI and its methods date back decades and that policy lag needs to keep pace with adoption of AI on the one hand but also requires policy makers to understand what needs to be governed. Advancements in providing the compute needed as well as the maturing of exposing AI technology in ways that essentially promises the démocratisation of knowledge and creativity make policy, governance avenues, their formulation and eventual implementation, a function of the understanding of the technology and the efficiency of mapping policy alternatives down the policy hierarchy from business to architecture to operation, the operational level applying technology and AI itself which implies a mediation from what legislation, standards, recommendations, commentary, etc. to technology and computation, underlining the importance of an 'understanding mediation' from operational telemetry to policy makers and institutions.
