In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
A road map of initiatives to support AI Governance over a long term period.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
- Transparency, accountability, and human oversight
- Interoperability of governance approaches
- Safe, secure and trustworthy AI

Honestly all options are extremely important. Nonetheless, based on the AI strategies I have seen many are indeed government and big corporation focused on building out the necessary infrastructure to compete and improve national security. Some countries also have an agenda to drive efficiency but this process is not entirely transparent. In some countries there are questions around the level of regulation as to if they will impede the rate of AI adoption and innovation but at the same instance the question around security.
How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.
The region in focus has an AI strategy but they are questions around the level of adoption based on the government focus. As such, they are gaps relative to the feasibility of the AI strategy, the geopolitical changes and budgetary focus.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
Most countries are focused on competing to see who can have the best infrastructure and products out to the market. Maybe if major players, such as US and China have a discussion then future tension can be handled better.
What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?
In some region across the americas do not have a AI framework in place so it would be good for those market to join the discussion for partnership.
How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.
If you take the US approach you have the government making changes to support AI adoption over a long term and big tech giving the support but not much about legislations. Other regions like Europe, there is not much big tech support being transparent to support the AI strategy as the ecosystem is extremely different. In the Caribbean there is a need for investment in this area to transform the AI landscape, improve skillsets and create government supporting initiative.
Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?
Legislative framework seem to be the underrespresented globally as most countries are focused on go to market products and less on a ecosystem that will delay product lauches.
Please share examples of policies, practices, platforms, or approaches that promote effective AI governance or offer concrete solutions to addressing its challenges.
