In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
That we establish a precautionary framework that is meaningful (eg cannot be overturned by one or few nations) to preserve humanity's equitable future against the risks posed by AI first. Pursuing the opportunities can then follow.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Protection and promotion of human rights
- Transparency, accountability, and human oversight
- Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI

We must focus on protecting people first and foremost, before looking at the applications.

AI Research - the current forms of AI, while impressive looking, are quite limited compared to human potential. But there is research going on into the next generation of AI architectures that could lead to significant progress. We should govern the research as much as if not more than the use of AI, much as we governed human genetic experimentation.
How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.
I believe nowhere effectively governs the development or application of AI, and that everyone is at significant risk of harm from the use of AI today.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
Humanity must work together or fall apart, as we have in so many other areas. The AI Dialogue is our main chance at protecting ourselves.
What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?
The value of the AI Dialogue lies in coordination and the finding of common ground.
How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.
The AI Dialogue will need to be proactive in engaging stakeholders, otherwise it risks being driven by the loudest voices. I am not an expert on these processes, but my recommendation would be to engage people who are.
Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?
Almost all of civil society. The vast majority of Earth's citizenry have no idea the dialogue exists or that their voice could contribute. To be truly inclusive, the Dialogue will need to work hard to find and listen to a full range of voices.
What innovative engagement formats could most effectively foster meaningful and dynamic engagement during the AI Dialogue?
The Museum for the United Nations UN Live program is using commercial media techniques to engage and include citizenry from around the world. I would recommend a partnership.
Please share examples of policies, practices, platforms, or approaches that promote effective AI governance or offer concrete solutions to addressing its challenges.

I know of none that yet exist, noting the key word "effective". This is the immediate challenge needing to be overcome.
