In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
Understanding where the pressure to push the AI agenda is coming from - Tech has a strong hold in pushing this agenda governments but what is the reality of this in terms of rights, protections and data disclosures. AI is at its very youngest, and so in its infancy what rules and regulations need to be put in place that avoids human rights violations and bias that then becomes the foundation for governance. Dialogues and clearer thoughts on whose agenda is being pushed, the source of AI funding including its impact on data distribution and clearer thinking around structures given AIs infancy and limited capabilities.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
- Protection and promotion of human rights

AI will only be as good as the data that is imputed - but how do you translate intuition, cultural idiosyncrasies, intrinsic linguistic capability or even economic peculiarities. If something doesn't have structure, it does to mean it's wrong but it cannot be fed into an AI structured system eg customary law practices. In amongst this is the imperative to protect the rights of human and the importance of holding fast to those things that make cultural groups distinct, interact and needed. When we have tired to force set structures and boundaries on others in the past, when we have attempted to normalise justice systems, government systems, etc all it has done is alienate one group. AI can not be another tool or an attempt to standardise life.
