In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
A common understanding of an AI governance framework that reduces risk, enables responsible AI usage at scale, and finds a balance between AI hesitancy and over-reliance to ensure the UN agencies and IFIs are leveraging this technology in a way the enables, empowers and enhances. I typed this myself and didn't consult AI - even to check grammar or make me sound smarter.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- AI capacity-building
- Protection and promotion of human rights
- Safe, secure and trustworthy AI
- Transparency, accountability, and human oversight

As a UX designer my focus is mainly on ensuring transparency, explainability and human oversight (human-in-the-loop). Safe and secure AI is incredibly important, however I foresee that in 5 years there will be a counter-reaction to the over-reliance that I see happening. Ongoing consideration of humans - human rights, human oversight, ensuring that AI 'scope creep' doesn't occur and that we are making AI work for US in a deliberate, responsible manner that places the human at the center, is critical.
In your opinion, are there any cross-cutting or emerging issues not captured by the listed themes above? If so, please explain.
AI- over - reliance. This needs a great deal more consideration, discussion, risk modelling and risk mitigations.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
Any entity that can credibly bring together voices from across the space to have these conversations will play a hugely significant role. International cooperation is like a distant memory at this time, and more than EVER it's critical that there is some kind of collective organization to bring about cooperation regarding AI governance. We are scratching the surface regarding the capabilities of this technology, and more than ever, governance and oversight is needed.
What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?
There is AI Governance collaboration among IFIs to the best of my knowledge, and more of this is needed.
How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.

Open forums, breakouts for discussion in smaller groups, agreed upon ToRs, consensus on the most pressing issues and threats, opportunity identification, use case sharing.
