AI should not harm people. On the contrary, AI must foster social development, bridge the digital divide, and address the climate and energy crisis. Widespread participation, open technologies, and a multistakeholder approach are the basis for tackling priorities.

The high energy and water consumption projected for the expansion of AI raises concerns about the climate crisis and the energy transition. This is an issue that needs to be addressed.
How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.
AI Governance and regulation initiatives are deeply polarised and undermined by national elections. Multistakeholder talks and open dialogue are crucial to provide a common ground where everyone is comfortable. Most AI applications have focused on productivity rather than social impact, bringing benefits to the most vulnerable. We need to voice out and support all initiatives on AI of impact.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
Only a multistakeholder dialogue, provided that all regions are effectively engaged, will foster real advancements in cooperation. AI Dialogue can help ensure that every voice is heard and that a consensus will be pursued hardly.
What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?

Very little has been done to promote AI governance at large. I don't know any practice that is good enough to be reference.
