In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
Actionable steps for governments / agencies to actually commit too. We all know what the issues are now regarding AI and AI Governance. We need actionable policies now that protect all different types of people, regardless of gender, race, age etc. Representation from all corners of the globe, particularly Global South. Active representation from youth, not just older generations.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Safe, secure and trustworthy AI
- AI capacity-building
- Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
- Protection and promotion of human rights
Please briefly explain your selection.

The protection should include ALL human rights, including particularly refugees and women all over the world. AI capacity building should be more accessible and affordable, also stronger pathways of beginner to advanced AI capacity building, now there are becoming more and more courses available but not enough clear pipelines for AI capacities to be developed consistently.

Gender rights.
How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.
I am based in the MENA region, specifically Lebanon, Syria and Palestine and have been since 2018. There is a huge lack of opportunities there, lack of governance and overall lack of awareness about AI. Thousands of people are being left behind on AI training and education and it is creating an even more terrifying digital divide.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
Helping bring together governments from different regions to discuss what is working / what isn't in terms of the AI governance. I believe countries sharing their successes with other less developed countries would help enormously. Also bringing youth to the forefront of the AI age that we are ultimately leading on developing. We need to be at the forefront of such dialogues to help shape policies and capacity trainings globally not just nationally or locally.
Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?
Refugees, women, youth. Bring in people to tell their stories from on the ground. These dialogues are useful if you are at the top, feeding information up from the bottom. However we can't afford to do AI governance like this, we need young people who are leading the charge on the ground to be part of these conversations from now.
What innovative engagement formats could most effectively foster meaningful and dynamic engagement during the AI Dialogue?
Group discussions with global policy leaders, combined with expert youth within the AI field to discuss the huge scale problems AI governance now faces for different groups of people.
