In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?

Outcomes like ethical standards for AI engineering. If the solutions are solved in the grassroots - data privacy, user protection, reduced AI addiction, and all other factors to protect the right use of AI for humanity are a success.

From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?

  • Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
  • Transparency, accountability, and human oversight
  • Protection and promotion of human rights

Please briefly explain your selection.

AI is a tool designed for humanity not the other way around. Like all tools, we must protect what makes us human and this means using safe, secure and trustworthy AIs. This means ethically designed AI that of course contribute to better representation of our languages, cultures, and morals. Trust should be a standard we can't negotiate especially as more vulnerable people (underage and under-informed groups) use AI.

In your opinion, are there any cross-cutting or emerging issues not captured by the listed themes above? If so, please explain.

3

Yes. Issues on copyrights, ethnic misrepresentation, addictive dependence and learning disorders are stemming from the use of AI as we see amongst youngsters.

How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.

Greatly! I am in my twenties, based in Lagos, Nigeria. I see a lot of my peers depending on AI as a coach, best friend, therapist, mentor, teacher, and psychiatrist. AI has been helpful in various aspects, especially in improving work, but when humans start relying on AI in areas where human relations, emotion, empathy, and attention should never be replaced, one must be troubled. The future of the younger generation is at risk now more than ever as AI robs them of their self-discovery, instincts, skills, curiosity, and humanity. I hope that this dialogue will bring adequate solutions to these new problems.

What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?

Paying attention to the current AI development issues is important now more than ever. Corporations taking actions to solve these problems after the AI Dialogue is the role itself.

What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?

I hope that dialogue builds upon or connects with the humanity-first approach towards all solutions. An added value is an inclusive conversation - These conversations should be discussed through the lens of technical and non-technical exposed people from all regions.

How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.

Format: The state of AI. The current issues. The solutions. The structure and strategies to implement solutions. The mission bearers (cooperations) The whens and wheres of results.

Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?

AI illiterates. Children. Youths. Vulnerable and disadvantaged people. Disabled communities. All are underrepresented now in the discussion. Include them by listening to them. Include them by asking the right questions and giving the right answers (policies, trust, transparency, protection ethical use of AI - a huge role in AI governance ).

What innovative engagement formats could most effectively foster meaningful and dynamic engagement during the AI Dialogue?

Ask. Listen. Decide and Implement.

Please share examples of policies, practices, platforms, or approaches that promote effective AI governance or offer concrete solutions to addressing its challenges.
