In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
Governments agree to the adapt the draft regulation, adapt it and immediately provide timelines go enforce it.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Safe, secure and trustworthy AI
- Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
- Open-source software, open data and open AI models

Safety first. Understanding the implications will help to avoid pitfalls. As open source is the future of AI democratization, it needs to be overseen and guided by laws.

The kill switch should not fall under safety and security, it should be a standalone topic. There should be a clear fall back plan.
How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.
My country is currently not a major player in building AI but a consumer hence we are adapting to AI without clear guidelines, policies or oversight. Most people are unaware of the need for these.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
Dialogue will help to enlighten and bring more people to see the need for cooperation and cross-border implementation of policies. Stakeholders should have an open mind, to identify current trends and predict the future, addressing the concerns of their citizens regarding training data, loss of jobs, potential for uprising, policing, profiling and importantly creation of jobs, medical and pharmaceutical enhancements, farming and other critical areas. Rival countries have to openly discuss their reservations for the sake of humanity and agree not to hurt us all in the long run. These countries are the only ones that enforce compliance on behalf of many others.
What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?
Some countries have already completed their framework e.g. South Korea. There is no need to reinvent the wheel for other countries. They can adapt and customize some of these to good effect. The aim should be to bring as many countries to the table as possible, especially African countries. As AI products have the tendency to be ubiquitous within a short period of time. Partnership should include studying the impact and implementation of such framework on the host country and working with stakeholders back home to make theirs work.
How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.
Stakeholders can submit their entries before the event, this allows organizers to prioritize the most requested points for general discussion. Firstly only humans should join, no agents. Everyone should be heard (voice or text) using a timer, say 2 minutes max per submission The results are then collated and voted on by the participants. The prioritized items are then expanded to a wider audience for diverse opinions before the board selected the universal entry.
Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?
Africa is grossly underrepresented, even worse with rural Africa. Including top voices, famous figures and leaders in the government could change this.
What innovative engagement formats could most effectively foster meaningful and dynamic engagement during the AI Dialogue?
Use Slido or similar tools to maximize engagement even in a physical setting.
Please share examples of policies, practices, platforms, or approaches that promote effective AI governance or offer concrete solutions to addressing its challenges.

AI usage in the workplace is a good example. People are being monitored and educated. Control measures are also put in place. This is almost impossible for the general population without the support of the government. Government and private collaboration should help to educate people. Data privacy laws should now include sections on AI usage.
