In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?

That by the end of the dialogue, clear and appropriate policies are established to govern the public use of AI particularly regarding age restrictions on certain applications, the need for parental guidance, and well-defined legal and criminal consequences for those who misuse these technologies alongside properly outlined rights concerning the ownership and endorsement of AI-generated content, as well as its accepted use across creative, educational, and professional domains.

From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?

  • Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
  • Open-source software, open data and open AI models
  • Safe, secure and trustworthy AI
  • Transparency, accountability, and human oversight

Please briefly explain your selection.

Trustworthy AI emphasises the ethical considerations behind integrating AI into our daily routines, ensuring that these systems genuinely work for us. It is about being able to trust an agent with sensitive information, with the confidence that security and privacy are firmly placed at the forefront of governance. There must be clear accountability knowing who is responsible in cases of misuse or the spread of misinformation. Transparency between AI systems and their users is essential, and above all, we must not underestimate the importance of human oversight in whatever models are being used. When data is open-sourced, it creates a greater need for transparency, allowing programmers to better understand what is implemented and the reasoning behind a model's design. This openness in software and security contributes to the transparency being discussed, at least from a developer's perspective, as they can evaluate and attest to how these systems operate. The social and economic impact of AI models cannot be underestimated; while their importance is clear, their broader implications should not be overlooked. From a technical standpoint, developers are often able to identify security vulnerabilities in AI systems and, in doing so, work toward making them more secure, more transparent, more accountable, and ultimately more reliable.

In your opinion, are there any cross-cutting or emerging issues not captured by the listed themes above? If so, please explain.

Issues around accessibility and AI centre on how people living with disabilities, underaged users, the elderly, and other vulnerable individuals are able to access and use AI models. This raises important questions about how such users are identified, and how any data collected from them is managed, protected, and handled responsibly. Also the Environmental Impact of AI Educational Impacts of AI

How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.

The UK GDPR provides a framework for transparency in data collection and, to some extent, addresses transparency, accountability, and open data practices. However, when it comes to ensuring safe and secure, trustworthy AI, there are still notable uncertainties particularly around how much human oversight is actually embedded in the AI tools used in everyday life. The social and economic implications of AI, much like in other regions, remain significant, and when environmental impacts are also considered, the scope of concern becomes even broader. The ethical dimensions of AI are currently being explored by Responsible AI UK, an international ecosystem focused on responsible AI research and innovation. These challenges include the societal impact of AI models on citizens, especially vulnerable and underaged groups. On the technical side, issues may arise from less experienced developers and the presence of security vulnerabilities in products available on the market. At the same time, there are clear opportunities. These include adopting a "human-in-the-loop" approach in areas where oversight is lacking, expanding research efforts, and increasing awareness through summits, seminars, and conferences. Such initiatives can help promote the effective integration of AI policies and regulations across corporate, educational, religious, and community environments.

What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?

Advocating for proper rules, regulations and polices across all areas and regions. Summits, Conferences and Seminars to share the importance of these polices and Governance to the vast majorities

What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?

AI Safety Institute (AISI) OpenAI Partnership Responsible AI UK (RAi UK) To mention those known to me... these are some bodies that have influence on the AI outcomes in the UK which can help advocate for the polices and governance which we are in pursuit of.

How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.

Technical Teams: shares insight on what it is like to work on opens sourced models Leadership, Managerial and Training teams: To share insight on what it is like to work with teams which uses Models as copilots on tasks, decision making etc Teachers, Educational Staff and Parents: To share insights on how AI has been used in classrooms and its impacts on students Researchers and community leaders: To share insights on how the community, environments and citizens as a whole have been affected Financial Staffs or bodies: To share insight on trustworthy AI around money, finances and fraudulent acts

Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?

People Living with Disabilities Elderly people and Vulnerable people(eg people with certain health conditions) They all can be represented by an advocate who is currently experiencing or has experience with these people such as Advocate care workers etc I personally is an advocate for accessible Digital system. As a women in Tech living with a disability I know first hand where we are underrepresented and stand to be a voice to those in my situation.

What innovative engagement formats could most effectively foster meaningful and dynamic engagement during the AI Dialogue?

Physical and Virtual engagements with sign language interpreters and text overlay or captions. Opportunity to submit suggestions such as this.

Please share examples of policies, practices, platforms, or approaches that promote effective AI governance or offer concrete solutions to addressing its challenges.

Solutions include: -Proper Advocacy for AI polices as soon as possible cause the AI train is moving fast and its getting harder and harder to keep up. -Training platforms and certifications for AI governors. People can be trained to learn and enforce implementation of AI in the organisation such as a consultant to show that any company that uses AI follows the strict polices around the use of AI. -Community platforms and group with each having a representative on AI Governance -Public Newsletters and Email subscriptions. -Conferences and Seminars
