In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?

First of all, having a clear understanding of current AI levels at the moment. We would also need the presence and live interviews of Big tech leaders especially from US and China. A non negotiable goal would be to discuss regulations on the use of AI and to come up with a clear frameworks of sustainable AI development.

From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?

  • Safe, secure and trustworthy AI
  • Interoperability of governance approaches
  • Transparency, accountability, and human oversight
  • AI capacity-building

Please briefly explain your selection.

I believe governance and AI will soon merge. It will probably start by incorporating AI within corporations governance and then - seeing how effective it will be - it will be introduced in state governance. It's a very risky move that is unfortunately inevitable in the near future.

In your opinion, are there any cross-cutting or emerging issues not captured by the listed themes above? If so, please explain.

Yes, European AI development isn't mentioned. Europe is lacking behind in this sector, how can it develop it's AI industry - in a sustainable way - to be a credible global negotiator in this sector? And how can it become an example for US and Chinese AI development that is in my opinion totally uncontrolled.

How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.

In France the company Mistral AI has definitely the loudest voice in that matter. The strategic alliance between Mistal AI and ASML is the biggest opportunity of creating a fully European AI ecosystem. The fact that we do not hear a lot about it is a gap that I would like to be discussed during this conference.

What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?

I would say setting the big Ideas and Frameworks right. And having a plan of how to delegate each specific issue in that matter.

What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?

As a European, definitely the Mistral AI / ASML partnership. Dialogue with American and Chinese counterparts is crucial regarding the matter of AI development. We urgently need diplomacy in regards to AI development, to do so, we first need to put some frameworks right.

Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?

The companies Mistral AI and ASML (more globally European AI leaders). And also AI scientists like Jeffrey Hinton that have years of experience in that field! We would absolutely need they presence!!
