In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
Contributing to addressing current challenges in artificial intelligence involves establishing policies that govern its use and mitigate potential misuse, as well as enacting laws and international treaties to promote cooperation among nations in this domain. This is particularly important given that AI tools collect vast amounts of global data, including intellectual property and personal information, which may not always comply with the legal frameworks of other countries. Additionally, these challenges extend to concerns related to national security.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Open-source software, open data and open AI models
- Transparency, accountability, and human oversight
- Protection and promotion of human rights

Transparency in relation to artificial intelligence tools is essential. There is no doubt that they provide valuable services and benefits that make people increasingly reliant on them. However, users' lack of awareness about the implications, combined with limited transparency regarding how their data is processed and with whom it is shared, calls for regulation and oversight by competent authorities to help curb the misuse of such data.
