In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?

A successful first Global Dialogue on AI Governance should deliver clear, actionable, and inclusive outcomes. First, the Dialogue must strengthen global cooperation. With innovation and regulation evolving in silos, progress on cross-country pilots, interoperable risk classification frameworks, and shared incident reporting protocols would help build trust and regulatory coherence across jurisdictions. Second, meaningful participation from the Global South is essential. Success would include concrete commitments on equitable access to compute, capacity building, data governance, and promotion of AI use cases in public service delivery, ensuring that emerging economies are not left behind. Third, it should advance responsible deployment of AI in real-world settings, with transparency, accountability, and safety embedded by design. Agreement on baseline safeguards, audit standards, and risk mitigation practices that are practical and scalable would be an important marker of success. Fourth, a consumer-centric approach should be embedded. Recognising consumers as rights-holders, the Dialogue should secure a shared commitment to transparency, fairness, privacy, safety, accountability, and accessible grievance redress mechanisms. Fifth, fostering a supportive ecosystem for startups and innovation is critical. This includes enabling increased access to datasets and compute infrastructure, and reducing compliance burdens through harmonised frameworks, allowing startups to scale responsibly across borders. Finally, success would also depend on strong multistakeholder engagement. Bringing together governments, industry, startups, academia, public policy organisations and civil society in a structured manner will help build a trustworthy AI ecosystem where innovation is aligned with public interest and delivers inclusive, sustainable benefits globally.

From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?

  • Safe, secure and trustworthy AI
  • Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
  • Protection and promotion of human rights
  • Transparency, accountability, and human oversight

Please briefly explain your selection.

The selected priorities reflect a balanced and outcome-oriented approach to AI governance, combining technical robustness with societal responsibility. Safe, secure and trustworthy AI remains fundamental to advancing responsible deployment in real-world settings. This includes embedding safety by design, developing interoperable risk frameworks, and enabling shared mechanisms such as incident reporting to build trust across jurisdictions. Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI are particularly important to ensure inclusivity, especially for the Global South. Addressing issues such as equitable access to compute, capacity building, and culturally relevant AI applications will be key to preventing digital divides and enabling broad-based benefits. Protection and promotion of human rights should be central to all AI efforts. A rights-based approach ensures that privacy, dignity, and non-discrimination are upheld, while also reinforcing the need for consumer-centric safeguards and accessible grievance redress mechanisms. Transparency, accountability, and human oversight are critical enablers of trust. Clear audit standards, explainability, and human-in-the-loop systems will ensure that AI remains accountable and aligned with public interest. Together, these priorities support stronger global cooperation, enable innovation ecosystems including startups through clearer and harmonised frameworks, and reinforce a multistakeholder approach to building trustworthy, inclusive, and scalable AI systems.
