In my region, AI governance gaps create both challenges and opportunities. Challenges: limited regulatory frameworks, digital divide, weak data protection, and shortage of skilled professionals hinder safe and equitable AI adoption. Opportunities: targeted policies and regional collaboration can foster innovation in health, agriculture, and education, while local solutions and capacity-building initiatives can strengthen governance and ensure inclusive benefits.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
In the Chadian context, the AI Dialogue can help strengthen national and regional cooperation by providing a platform to share experiences, align on ethical and regulatory principles, and learn from international best practices. It can support capacity building for policymakers and institutions, guide the development of local AI policies, and promote inclusive participation so that solutions address Chadian realities in health, agriculture, education, and public services. This engagement can also open opportunities for partnerships, technology transfer, and regional collaboration, helping Chad benefit from AI while managing risks responsibly.
