In your opinion, what outcomes would make the first Global Dialogue on AI Governance a success?
When the GDoAI shifts focus away from supply side tech-centric orchestrations to user/human-centric design and oversight. It would be a success if it carries forward (and prioritizes) bridging the digital divide first before leapfrogging without the laggard LDCs. This will prevent global inequalities on AI as a technology even before regulation and governance is realized.
From your perspective, which of the following thematic areas identified by the General Assembly Resolution 79/325 for the AI Dialogue reflect your priorities for urgent action and active engagement?
- Social, economic, ethical, cultural, linguistic and technical implications of AI
- Protection and promotion of human rights
- Transparency, accountability, and human oversight
- Open-source software, open data and open AI models
Please briefly explain your selection.
We believe the priority areas should focus on anthropocentric impacts/implications that affect human society, which need to be based on protecting human rights first and not tech-advancements (resource acquisition, profit, extractivism) at the expense of transparency and accountability of systems that need to be viewed as a socio-technological and a social good.
In your opinion, are there any cross-cutting or emerging issues not captured by the listed themes above? If so, please explain.

I could only select 4 priority areas, but I'm certain all the thematic areas are cross-cutting. Tech-feudalism is obviously lacking as a thematic area of decolonizing and depoliticizing AI governance but I get the sense it will surface with clarity after this first iteration of the dialogue.
How are the governance gaps and related developments/advances in the thematic areas you selected above affecting your country, region, or sector? Please highlight the most significant challenges.
The challenge - exploit and extractive nature of tech-feudalism. Kenya witnessed the unregulated efforts of WorldCoin paying unsuspecting Kenyans (without informed consent) to scan their iris for $50-$100. The same exploit was seen in the labour resourcing (BPO) where Kenyan content moderators were exposed to psychologically traumatizing content during data annotation for ML. The opportunity - lies in developing relational AI governance framework that ensures three-tiered human oversight and ethical design.
What role can the AI Dialogue play in advancing international cooperation on AI governance?
Global and regional participatory sensemaking on necessary guardrails, safeguards to attain international cooperation on AI governance. It will help surface regional and grassroot narratives and case studies relevant to diverse people and communities on impact of AI (e.g. rise of digital sweatshops in Africa)
What are some of the existing initiatives, partnerships, or mechanisms that the AI Dialogue should build upon or connect with, and what added value could the AI Dialogue bring?

How can different stakeholders contribute to the AI Dialogue? Please share recommendations for the format and structure of the AI Dialogue.
Written submissions. Polled or Prioritized Dialogue Sessions (content) on recommendations that must be reported back to member states, their parliaments for discussion and policymaking interventions.
Which voices, communities, or perspectives are currently underrepresented in global discussions on AI governance? How could they be included?
Africa. Indigenous People and Communities. Sociocultural disrupt. Why not SOW seeds for AI Use and Governance? Sensitize the underrepresented, Outreach projects for sustainable ops and Workshops for Focus Group Discussions/dialogues, change management, training and capacity building for anthropocentric design and governance of AI systems.
What innovative engagement formats could most effectively foster meaningful and dynamic engagement during the AI Dialogue?
Collective visioning exercises on the future of AI Governance. Scenario development on impact and implications.
Please share examples of policies, practices, platforms, or approaches that promote effective AI governance or offer concrete solutions to addressing its challenges.
