The first Global Dialogue on AI Governance would be a success if it concluded with the formation of a Global Convention—with elected delegates of the people from every nation—to propose a comprehensive, legally-binding, and enforceable global treaty on AI, and to permanently ban the continued development of frontier AI systems.

We haven't any say in this. The best example I can show is in San Francisco we have these robo cars, they've had no regulation and we've never been allowed choice on whether we want them on our streets. They have killed people and animals, and shut the streets down because they can't operate in an emergency. But they don't go away because they make money for a small group of people. AI's presentation seems just that.

The military and policing implications. The inability to stop the use of a tool that has already shown itself to be damaging to mentally vulnerable humans. People have already killed themselves on the advice of AI but that seems to have made no difference in those tools still being operated, used and further developed.

No matter the dangers or already serious consequences (like people killing themselves or being convinced to take crazy actions) the marching forward of AI and its possible money making machine is not questioned, slowed, or regulated.

The AI Dialogue should have no tolerance for elevating AI systems to the status of "species" and no tolerance for the idea that AI should replace humanity. AI Dialogue can empower the people of the earth to form a Global Convention—with elected delegates of the people from every nation—to propose a comprehensive, legally-binding, and enforceable global treaty on AI. One which would permanently ban the continued development of frontier AI systems.

The important issue of AI governance must not just be in the hands of a few. The people must be empowered, not just the AI companies or their "Safety" spin offs. Town halls, educational presentations, and solicitation of individual and community input must be done in every corner of the earth. Perhaps something like the large concert held to raise money for famine in Africa that was held in the 1980's. Where education about what we are dealing with can also be presented. There are probably a lot of musicians, actors and others who are concerned about copyright issues who would join to put something together.

Everybody. Most of us know little about the potential problems and we all seem unable to influence changes or put the brakes on the thing.
